Over the last couple of days we had noticed a water stain in our hallway. Upon further research it turns out our washing machine has been leaking.

So for the first time in my life I have has to deal with homeowners insurance. I made the call today and explained our issue. I was ill prepared for what was going to happen next. I figured an adjuster would come out and take a look. When I spoke with adjuster he told me he would be out Friday but he was going to have a restoration service contact me. I spoke with the restoration service and they said they would be out shortly.

Within 2 hours of my initial call I had guys tearing out my flooring and freaking out all the cats in the house. Poor Lle was so traumatized she took refuge in our closet behind all the clothes. Turns out that  am going to have to have all the flooring in the living room, hallway and part of the Master Bedroom replaced.

We now have risiculously loud and powerful fans running 24/7 and have to basically shout at each other to be heard.

Our kitchen is basically unusable and the washer and dryer are now in the garage. So other than no home cooking and no clean clothes it shouldn’t be too much of an inconvenience.

Oh and they also had to cut out parts of our wall.

I wonder if the insurance will cover kitty counseling?
