While perusing one of my favorite blogs, I came across a link to a site that I have found pretty interesting. It is an internet archive of websites called the wayback machine. You can key in most websites and it will show you what they looked like in 1996 or up to present day.
It is amazing if you look at sites like Google, CNN, Foxnews, or even Nascar.com. Those are all screen shots from the last 15 years and it is amazing how far the internet has evolved in that short of a time.
I remember when I was back on dial up and waiting minutes for stories and pictures to load, it would never occur to me that it would replace my daily paper. And I could never imagine that I would be able to listen to music, stream movies or watch videos.
In thirty years will I be lucky enough to still be around to tell my grand kids how rough we had it back in 2010 with what will then seem like a primitive internet?
As for the picture above, I always enjoyed Mr. Peabody and his boy Sherman.
