So when I booked the cruise, I received two free nights hotel from Priceline. I received an e-mail from them telling me how to redeem them, but I accidentally deleted it. After contacting their customer service (So disapointed William Shatner didn’t answer the phone) they sent me another e-mail. Unfortunately, I had already booked the hotel in Miami. It also wasn’t free nights but a $140 credit you could use toward naming your own price on any number of nights. So I decided to bid one dollar on a 4 star in Atlanta for the Friday night when we were originally going to start our journey. So priceline added the $140 to my bid and for grand total of $29.83 (I had to pay the taxes and fees) we will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. Not bad since the lowest published rate I could find was $219 a night.
I hope we get those fancy mints on the pillows.

My evil plan to get away is almost finalized!
Cruise booked, flight booked, baseball tickets bought and now hotel booked. Once again Priceline came through for me. We will be staying at the Hyatt Regency in Miami. I bid $80 for it and there was the wonderful taxes and fees that took it up to $98. It is rated as a 4 star hotel, so this will be the second 4 star we have graced with our presence. The other was the Chicago Hilton. It is also less than 2 miles to the port of Miami, so very convenient also.
Almost all if not all of the details of this little adventure are complete now. Time to enjoy this one and plan the next one.

Well we got the last cat in the house fixed, Lele got fixed on Monday. She took it a lot better than Hope as my wife only had to take two and a half days off to tend to her.

After I received the lovely gift from my mother in law pictured above, for some reason my thoughts turned towards retirement.
Since I have worked full time for 25 years, I should be halfway there.
Now all I need is a million or two in the bank and a pitcher of sweet tea and I will be good to go.
Here is a link to video describing explosion.
I have been known to frequent the store in question on occasion. My store shares a parking lot with it.

Thursday afternoon I received a text message from an employee that there had been some sort of explosion near my house. At the time it was unclear what had caused it but there were rumors that it was a plane crash.
I had also heard approximately where the explosion had occurred so I knew it wasn’t my house. I live maybe a mile and half away and I have a store a little over a quarter mile away. I decided I should head home and make sure the house was undamaged which it was.
The store near the blast had both front doors thrown open and its commercial ceiling tiles lifted up. The liquor store next door broke some bottles and suffered damage to their suspended heating ducts.
Its a miracle no one was killed.
I was falling asleep last night with the Red Sox /Yankees game on in the background, when the seventh inning stretch happened. I heard them announce the lead singer for Aerosmith was going to sing God Bless America and I figured I better check it out. I was a little worried at the beginning but I thought he came through it well.
