Yesterday I headed North to pick up the kids.

What was supposed to be a nice easy trip turned into anything but. It was going to be a easy 710 miles there and back and about 11 hours and fifteen minutes of drive time. Since I didn’t have to be there until 4 PM and I gained an hour on the way I left around 10 AM. Everything went relatively smoothly on the way there and I was running ahead of schedule. I stopped North of Nashville for a good healthy McDonald’s lunch and took the time to read the sports section of the Nashville paper. I forgot how much I miss having a hard copy to read.  I stopped at a rest area and took a twenty minute nap, which I didn’t realize I needed until much later. (more…)

Just had to post it to get my picture off the top of this page, plus I laughed when I saw it.

I think I may have woke up this morning with the worst possible case of bad hair.  I usually do not scare myself like this first thing in the morning.  You think your spousal unit would warn you on a day like this. “Honey, you may not want to turn on any lights today.” Or just a “What the Hell happened to you?” would have proved useful. But no, this is how I started my day.

I think it looks like a mug shot. I think I’ll keep a copy of it in case I ever get famous and get arrested. “Save the film Officer I got you covered.”

Of course I have a way to go to wrestle the mantle of worst hair ever from Mr. Nolte.

Maybe next time Laila will at least tell me to put on my best Hawaiian shirt and I’ll get the clue.

A couple of weeks ago I either woke up feeling too good or I decided I really should use that health insurance I’ve been paying for all these years.

Now being new to this whole going to the doctor thing I scheduled the daily double. A trip to the physician in the AM for a check up and a trip to the eye doctor in the afternoon. (more…)
