krsytal letter

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

My Krystal experience and the text from an e-mail I sent them from a couple of months ago that got deleted with server change. I never heard back from them.

When I pulled into drive through the first thing I heard through speaker was unintelligble. So I told them I did not understand them but I wanted a number 1 with chicken bites and a coke. The lady said “you can’t do that”. I thought that was a little strange and a slightly rude way of putting it so I told her I had done it many times in the past and why could I not do it now? Then another voice came over speaker (I am assuming it was higher ranking member of management) and explained because we use REAL chicken now.

I ended up ordering the CHIK combo and just hoped that there was REAL chicken in it.

It just made me wonder if I had not been eating chicken in my chicken bites for the last few years, what exactly was it that I had been eating.

I enjoyed the meal with the Non real Chicken Bites as there are only so many french fries a man can eat in his life.

I am disappointed that this is no longer an option as it will make me visit less frequently.

I am not looking for any thing other than a reply as I am sure there was chicken in the non real chicken bites. I think it is a poor way to explain to your customers that you are now using REAL chicken as it raises questions and I thought you could use this as a training opportunity for your staff.

I am a multi unit manager (non food) and I know that sometimes the message that is communicated from corporate is not what is communicated by field staff.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Welcome Inmate Number 26597859!

We have a new inmate in our penal system. Scooter was tried by a non jury of his non peers and found guilty of the offense of felony vandalism and ruled a menace to the house. He has chewed up a wicker cat basket which he left pieces of in my bed, a bag of secure deposit bags (work related), a cookbook, multiple little wooden pull things off of our blinds, a piece of the bunk bed, part of a window sill and some irreplaceable pictures of Laila and her boys. This and the fact that he has still sprung an occasional leak.

He is really sweet and well behaved when we are home but he gets bored and lonely while we're gone. Either that or the cats have done a wonderful job of framing this poor puppy so we'll take him back from whence he came.

I will not be drawn in and fooled by a bunch of felines.

As much as we hate it we went out and purchased a puppy prison for him. We are going to parole him on a nightly basis and offer weekend furloughs for him.

I hate it but I can't let him eat my house and possessions.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Thanksgiving is tomorrow and it is my favorite holiday of all. Its probably because it is one of the few, if not the only, holiday that you can make of it what you want.

You can decorate or not. There is no such thing as a Thanksgiving tree or Thanksgiving lights. (more…)

Welcome Scooter!

While its not big news like who is going to be the first dog and he is neither hypo allergenic nor a rescue dog, we have an addition to the household.

His name is Scooter and he comes from a good home that was just too crowded with three other dogs. He is a year old mixed breed. We think he is part Labrador and part Golden Retriever.

This brings us to a perfect balance in the house with two dogs and two cats, a male and a female of each. A true democracy could ensue in case I ever decide to cede my benevolent dictatorship that currently rules the house. I just don't see that happening any time soon.

What do bagel executions and cat ranching have in common anyhow?

On Saturday the missus and I decided to take a little shopping adventure.

I did not realize at the time that I purchased the house that the color of the kitchen counter top would affect my appliance budget negatively in Fiscal Year 2008. Apparently they will not function properly if they are white while the counter top is black, who knew? (more…)

Wow, I really liked that we’ll have to do it again!

I wrote this over a few days and it might not be in chronological or anylogical order at all.

Our plan of getting out Friday afternoon early enough to miss all the Atlanta traffic did not work as planned. (more…)

Some pics from Lailapalooza are up in gallery

Legs are still wobbly from the voyage and I am typing up our cruise story and will have it posted shortly.

To see pics click here

Unfortunately our new digital camera got washed out to sea temporarily in Half Moon Cay. I was able to save the pictures in the memory card but camera is dead. I was very disapointed in the quality of pictures that we took with the disposables we purchased. I was really disappointed by the underwater camera as it did not do the beauty of the coral reef justice.

LAILAPALOOZA 2008!

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Time for an update, sorry for long delay.

It didn't seem proper to post my silliness about Sears not being able to deliver a refridgerator up the hill in front of my house, or the trouble I was having getting hi speed internet or the nice time I had in Gatlinburg while post Hurricane Ike my parents sat without electricity for 12 days. It did put things in to perspective though for me.

So I found someone to deliver a different fridge, I have internet. we settled in to the new house and Gatlinburg was nice.

Laila's birthday is Saturday and I wanted to  do something special for her because it marks the beginning of a ten month period each year where I can call her my "old lady".

So of course I started like usual at Priceline. I booked a cruise that leaves out of Jacksonville this Saturday which is actually her birthday. It is a five night cruise with 2 stops in the Bahamas. Our cabin actually looks right out the aft (I learned that means the back of boat)

We are very excited as neither of us were flagged as terrorists and they issued us passports. So we are now free to travel the world.

A few days ago while messing around on priceline, I secured lodging at the Hyatt in Jacksonville for a grand total (taxes and fees) of $67 for Friday night.

I should have plenty of pictures to post and skin to peel when we get back.

Plunging back into home ownership

Tomorrow. Laila and I are closing on our new home in Calhoun, Georgia. After months of everyone telling us what a great time it is to be a home buyer and a few counter offers later, voila! (more…)
